Las Vegas weddings make
Las Vegas the marriage capital of the world! The most popular Las Vegas wedding
day is Valentine's Day. New Year's Eve runs a close second. For the entire year,
more than 100,000 couples obtain marriage licenses in Las Vegas.
Weddings Las Vegas-style run
the gamut from a formal black tie affair to exchanging vows on a motorcycle at a
Las Vegas wedding chapel's drive-up window. Las Vegas weddings can take place
with couples soaring high above the desert in hot- air balloons. Others renew
their vows before a rhinestone-studded Elvis impersonator.
There is a niche for all
budgets. Las Vegas wedding chapels will arrange and perform weddings at a site
of the couple's choosing from Lake Mead to Mt. Charleston and all points in
between. Special music, flowers, limousine services, video-recorded ceremonies,
many-tiered wedding cakes and a host of souvenirs are always available for that
perfect Las Vegas wedding.
Neither blood tests nor
waiting periods are required of couples wanting to get married in Las Vegas.
Legal age is 18 for men and women (proof of age is required), and licensing fees
are $50.
Civil ceremonies can be performed at the Marriage Commissioner's Office
at 309 South 3rd Street. Chapel fees vary.
