Disney fun on the high seas

Disney Cruise Line will surprise you with great activities for young and old alike.  Unlike theme park vacations, you will have a chance to relax, spend time with your spouse and enjoy the company of your children -- when you want to.

That's the beauty of a Disney Cruise.  If you don't want to be around kids, you don't have to.  Escape to sanctuaries on an entire deck of activities just for you!  Enjoy the adult activities available in the Vista Spa or near the Quiet Cove pool.  Even their private island has a beach off limits to kids.

Each Disney cruise features adult entertainment including two nightclubs with dancing, eight bars and lounges -- each with a different flair -- and deck parties.

The Disney ship has three freshwater pools.  One for adults, one for children, and one for families.  The Adults Only pool features two covered hot tubs.  The pool is located on Deck 9 Forward and is easy to access from the forward elevators.

There is something about seeing your child's eyes light up with that special glow when they see Mickey for the first time. They truly believe the magic is real. It's for that reason they will enjoy the Oceaneer Club.  Children between the ages of 3 and 7 are welcome here.

Activities are divided into age specific groups, ages 3-4 and 5-7.

The club is a fantasy land for little children.  With climbing areas and fanciful playgrounds, kids are enthralled for hours.  With the encouragement of Disney counselors, they participate in dozens of exciting games, singalongs and fanciful storytelling with the Disney Characters.

Here the children can play in the playground or dress up as their favorite Princess, villain or pirate, play games, build their own world at the Duplo table or play in the computer lab where the large mouse is specifically designed for the little hands.

Parents are provided with pagers to keep in touch, should someone feel lonesome, but with dozens of brand new friends, that's just not going to happen!

Security is of the utmost importance at the club.  All children must wear a wristband with vital information such as name, age group, stateroom number and pertinent medical information. Parents must sign children in and out of the club.

Teens are offered their own activities, all age specific and all with the dozens of teens that are onboard every week.  They even have their own hangout, where only they're allowed -- Common Grounds.  Common Grounds is a New York-style coffee house that's designed to keep the most discriminating teenager occupied.  They can challenge their new friends to table top games, computer games,  and check out the latest CDs and magazines.

There are also structured activities and competitions to keep them as involved as they want to be. Activities like Teen Improv Comedy teach improvisational comedy skills and lets them ham it up.  Those with a knack for performance can opt to take DJ training to learn the ins and outs of spinning dance music -- and then take that skill to the dance floor in Studio Sea!

Several Teen Only excursions and competitions are also provided to entertain them at the Ports of call.
